Ad of The Day- The Guardian- “One Woman, A Nation Divided”
I think this is a brilliant advert to depict the division between the people of Britain who either love or hate the late Margaret Thatcher. In a bid to promote an article about her life in last Saturday’s Guardian, the advert is thought provoking and definitely aimed to spark conversation among readers. I personally think the imagery of the print ad is great and using the “contains iron” pun is a clever way of summing everything that people thought about her in one picture. I also personally liked the fact that the first few letters of her name are “Mar” so the Marmite pot makeover still looked right. Overall a strong advert with a powerful message. RIP.
